Capital Campaign
“Together, we can be United for Impact!”
“If you consider Bonsack your church home, I hope you will join this shared effort. Any sacrifice you make, no matter how big or small, will help us to extend and expand our ministry impact.”
Progress toward our goal:
United Worship Service, September 10, 2023
Goal 1
Pay down as much debt as possible.
Why? We wanted to avoid an increase in our monthly payment when our 5-year lock on interest rate expired in August of 2025. We have paid down our principle which will save us over $79,000 per year in interest costs, strengthening our ministries across the life of our church. From now until the end of the campaign, we hope to continue paying down debt to set us up well for the future.
Ministry Outcomes: Continuing to pay down debt will enable us to continue our current ministries without cutting back in some areas and allow us to expand our reach into the community. We also want to invest in ministering to the unique needs of students and their families. Our youth ministry was the first to return to pre-pandemic participation levels, which speaks to the vitality and potential of this ministry.
Goal 2
Relocate our youth ministry…Completed as of April 2025!
How? By completing the unfinished space on the third floor of the CLC and updating the Community Room. This cost approximately $500,000.
Why? The renovation provided approximately 4,000 square feet for LIFE Group rooms and meeting space. These rooms are more functional, more welcoming, and allow for a doubling of current attendance. The Community Room provides a student-friendly worship space for Wednesday night Power Hour.
Personal touches were added such as student art, foosball, a basketball hoop, and the students’ favorite recliners.
The Plan
By having a three-year campaign, we ensure our ability to continue sharing Christ and building believers here at Bonsack.
By raising $2.5 million to pay down our debt and renovate spaces for our youth ministry, we not only free up money to support other ministries; we also can put ourselves in a position to pay off the loan early, potentially saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest. Imagine the impact this could have on the kingdom of God! This is why every dollar raised beyond our goal will go directly towards debt reduction.
Action Steps
We have all been blessed by the generosity, sacrifice, and vision of those who came before us. It’s our turn now to invest in those who come behind us!
1. Pray that God will use this effort to encourage our congregation to participate in the larger purpose of sharing Christ and building believers.
2. Pray over the financial gifts you and your household can make over the next few months to invest in the future of Bonsack Baptist Church.
