Easter Sunday Service Times

In order to easily accomodate everyone on Easter Sunday, Bonsack will offer three worship services in both the Sanctuary and Community Room at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m. Sunday School classes will be held at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. unless otherwise mentioned by your Sunday School leaders. We hope you'll join us to celebrate a risen Savior this Easter!

Preschool Childcare Assistance Needed on Easter

Easter is coming and that means additional help will be needed for preschool care for all three services, 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Call the church office (977-5701) and let Carolyn know if you would be available to assist.


Senior Adult Day Trip to Eagle Rock

Attention, Bonsack senior adults: be at the church by 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 17 to enjoy a day trip.  We’ll begin by touring Forest Grove Baptist Church in Eagle Rock, (built in 1903). Afterwards, we will have lunch at Maw & Paw’s Diner, also in Eagle Rock and then stop at the new Cheese Shop in Fincastle before returning to the church around 2:30. The only cost will be for your lunch. Sign up by calling the church office at 977-5701. 


Portraits of Grace Easter Production

Join us for Portraits of Grace: A Visual Journey to the Cross, presented by Bonsack Baptist Church Adult Choir on April 16-19
We have a waiting list for Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances for Portraits of Grace.  Please turn in any tickets you are not going to use so that they may be distributed to our waiting list. Desserts for Portraits of Grace Participant Meals Needed!

Desserts are needed for dinners served to the Easter program participants  (April 14–April 18). Your dessert donations may be dropped off by 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall Monday–Friday of that week. 


GA's Mom and Me Overnight Camp

The GA’s will be attending Mom and Me overnight camp at Eagle Eyrie in April, and their missions project for the camp is to collect supplies to be sent to our military personnel.  These items include: Stridex face pads, chapstick, deodorant, small sizes of hand lotion, Q-tips, disposable razors, shampoo and American flags. Also needed are soap, sunscreen, toilet paper, powdered Gatorade & drink mixes, dental floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, writing paper, envelopes, Twizzlers, beef jerky, pop-top cans of fruit, granola bars, Clif or Balance bars, tuna kits, zip-lock baggies and Texas Pete hot sauce. There are marked boxes around the building for your donations. The deadline is Sunday, April 20. Thank you for your support of the GA’s and our military. Contact Tarin Dalton for more information.


Two Great Mission Opportunities

The Mission Committee offers a variety of mission opportunities from local to state, national and international. Here are two international opportunities that we want you to be aware of. We have a team going to Bucharest, Romania, June 5-14 to work with the Roma children at the Ruth School, along with some other work with the Roma. Part of this trip will include putting together a graduation celebration for the eighth graders, which is a huge accomplishment. The deadline to sign up for this trip is Sunday, April 13. Contact Danny Quirin (977-5701x213)  if you’re interested. We are also putting together a team to go to the Free State area in South Africa, September 14-28. This group will be doing a variety of things such as light construction, after-school Bible clubs and more based on the giftedness of the team. The deadline to show interest in this trip is Sunday, May 4. Contact Sidra White (761-0532) if interested.


Senior Adults trip to Lancaster, PA, May 2014

The senior adults will be traveling to Lancaster, PA May 15–17, 2014 to see the new play, “Moses.” This is a Thursday–Saturday trip. We plan to travel by Abbott Bus. There are 3 seats available and a $100 non-refundable deposit is required to sign up. Please call the church office at 977-5701 or drop by the office to sign up. Our seats for “Moses” are on the main floor. Accommodations will be at Comfort Suites in Lancaster., and Thursday evening dinner at Arthur’s Terrace at Eden Resort. Update:  Total cost for the trip:  single occupancy is $429; double is $309; and triple is $269.  Continue to watch this space for more information as it becomes available.




VBS 2014--Agency D: Discover, Decide, Defend

Then join a great team of volunteers in conducting VBS 2014, Agency D3 (July 7–11, 9 a.m. –12 p.m.), where kids will learn to discover the truth of Jesus and gain the confidence to grow and share their faith. I Smell Something Cooking!

It has been some time since Bonsack cooks have shared recipes. It is time to put together another collection of those favorite dishes. Look through your recipe files, old cookbooks, magazines, etc., for recipes that you would like to share. Forms for submitting your favorite recipes are available at the InfoCenters and at the church office.  Please complete and turn in at the drop-off boxes provided by May 4, or you can email your recipe to Cindy Herald at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Proceeds from the cookbook sales will go to our FOOD PANTRY. The cookbooks will be here in time for Christmas gifts! 


RA Racers

First through sixth grade Royal Ambassador boys will be racing their pinewood cars on Friday, April 11 at BBC in the fellowship hall.  Weigh-in is at 5:30 p.m. and the race will begin at 6 p.m. The winners will proceed to the state level on Saturday, April 12 at BBC in the fellowship hall when we will be hosting for the first time the RA Regional Race from 1–5 p.m.


Senior Adult Banquet

The Family Life Committee invites you to join us on May 3 at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall for an evening of food and entertainment as we forget about this past winter and enjoy our 2014 senior adult banquet, An Island Getaway. Music will be provided by the Island Music Trio; the menu will feature grilled chicken, rice pilaf and delicious tropical inspired desserts. Tickets will be available at the first floor InfoCenter on Sunday, April 13 and 27 or through the church office beginning Monday, April 14.
