New Food Pantry Hours Beginning March 6, 2014
The Bonsack Baptist Food Pantry hours are changing. Effective March 6, the Pantry will be open on Thursday mornings from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Attention, Parents of Preschoolers and Children through 6th Grade
Sunday, March 9, Daylight Saving Time begins. All preschool (2 years and older) and children’s Sunday school classes, through 6th grade, will celebrate with PJ Day! Wear your PJ’s to church and enjoy breakfast in your Sunday school class.
Discipleship Seminar: Son of God – The Life of Jesus In You
Whether you are exploring the life of Jesus for the first time or ready to take your faith to a deeper level, this study is for you. Practical steps will be given to help discover and fulfill God’s plan for your life. This DVD 6-week study will be led by Dana Harris and begins March 9 at 5 p.m. in the Gathering Room (A200).
WEEC Fall Enrollment Now in Progress
The Weekday Preschool is enrolling families now for fall 2014. To enroll in the 2 1/2 year-old program, children should be age two by March 30. We are also accepting 3’s and 4’s for the half day program, and there is ongoing enrollment for the full day program. Please call the WEEC Preschool office (977-0485) for more information.
New Men’s Small Groups Forming:
Four new men’s small groups are starting the week of March 23. Sign-up sheets are at the first floor InfoCenter. Contact Donnie Robins or Allen Moyer for more information.
- What’s so amazing about Grace by Philip Yancey. From this study you’ll discover how you can become Christ’s answer to a world that desperatley wants to know (10 weeks beginning March 23).
- Facing your Giants by Max Lucado. Focus on giants – you stumble; focus on God – your giants tumble. If you’re ready to face your giants, let his story inspire you. The same God who helped King David will help you! (8 weeks beginning March 26).
- Book of James ... Think Life Change by The Navigators. This Bible study on the book of James is a challenge to Christians of every age to keep growing up. (10 weeks).
- “33...the Series”: a study designed to inspire and equip men to pursue Authentic Manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ in the 33 years he lived on earth (6 weeks).
Women’s Night of Worship, Friday, April 4, 7 p.m.
Bonsack women join us at our second annual Roanoke Valley Baptist Association Women’s Night of Worship, Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m. in our Community Room. This year’s speaker is Jane Bateman whose story is one of incredible trials overcome with equal parts of faith and humor.
Senior Adults trip to Lancaster, PA, May 2014
The senior adults will be traveling to Lancaster, PA May 15–17, 2014 to see the new play, “Moses.” This is a Thursday–Saturday trip. We plan to travel by Abbott Bus. There are 11 seats available and a $100 non-refundable deposit is required to sign up. Please call the church office at 977-5701 or drop by the office to sign up. Our seats for “Moses” are on the main floor. Accommodations will be at Comfort Suites in Lancaster., and Thursday evening dinner at Arthur’s Terrace at Eden Resort. Update: Total cost for the trip: single occupancy is $429; double is $309; and triple is $269. Continue to watch this space for more information as it becomes available.

When we have inclement weather and there is a question concerning cancellation of services, meetings, programs, etc., please check the church’s website (www.bonsackbaptist.org) for updates. Cancellations will also be reported by the local television stations.
I Smell Something Cooking!
It has been some time since Bonsack cooks have shared recipes. It is time to put together another collection of those favorite dishes. Look through your recipe files, old cookbooks, magazines, etc., for recipes that you would like to share. Proceeds from the cookbook sales will go to our FOOD PANTRY. The cookbooks will be here in time for Christmas gifts! Watch for additional information coming soon.
VBS 2014--Agency D: Discover, Decide, Defend
Mission Opportunity at Camp Piankatank
Volunteers are needed for cleanup and maintenance at Camp Piankatank near Hartfield, VA. Bonsack will be sending a team to help with this effort, April 10–12. Piankatank is a Virginia Baptist Christian summer camp located on the Piankatank River. If you are available and willing to volunteer your time or have additional questions, please contact the church office for contact information by March 26.
Portraits of Grace Easter Production
Tickets for Portraits of Grace will be available for pick up on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Bonsack Baptist Church fellowship hall on Saturday, March 15 from 8 a.m.–10 a.m. for church members and from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. for non-church members. Following Sunday, any available tickets may be ordered and printed from the church website or picked up from the church office on a first–come, first–serve basis. Maximum of 10 tickets per household.
